July 2016 Newsletter

The outing for Teacher Carmen and Teacher Lorna's class to the Military Museum last week was enjoyed by all. a big thank you to all the parents that assisted with transportation!

CONGRATULATIONS
We would sincerely like to congratulate the Sema Family on the birth of baby Grace, a sister to Pearl and Ivy who was born on the  3 June.
As well as the Andrews Family on the birth of baby Spencer William,  a brother to Bella-Rose born on the 22 June.
To both sets of families may these precious little people bring an abundance of love and joy into your lives!

WINTER COLDS
Winter has certainly made its presence felt.  Unfortunately winter is not a good time for our little children,   no matter how hard we try to keep germs at bay.  This is the time of year that many people get sick and our little children are the most vulnerable.    I recommend that extra vitamin supplements be given and to dress your child warmly in layers.  In saying that, the classrooms are very pleasant as we have air conditioners in place and can adjust the temperature accordingly to keep warm in winter and cool in summer so all your little ones are kept warm.

WORN OUT SHOES
When the children ride the black bikes they tend to drag their feet along the tar track thus damaging the front of their shoes.  We cannot stop the children from dragging their feet but what we can suggest is that the children wear an old pair of shoes to school.

PARENT FEEDBACK MEETING
We would like to thank all the parents who attended the report feedback parent meetings, I am sure that you have gained insight with regards to your child’s development.  If you have any other matters to discuss please do not hesitate to speak to the class teacher or myself.  Your child’s development is very important to us as we believe that the formative years are the most important years of your child’s life.    Many years ago I attended a lecture on Early Childhood Development given by Dr W Breytenbach. He said something that I may never forget which was, “You don’t make your engineers, doctors and accountants in matric but in Nursery School”.

In support of all of the above.... We engage in weekly themes to build the children’s general knowledge and life skills. So ask your child what they are learning at school and show interest and share your own knowledge with your child.  They are all very precious and have a wonderful future ahead of them so don’t under estimate your child’s potential.

THOUGHT FOR THE MONTH
