SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER 2016
“WELCOME TO SPRING”
“If we did not have Winter, Spring would not be so pleasant. Spring makes the world a happier place.”
School Annual Concert
Our annual school concert will be held on Saturday 15 October 9:00am - 11:00am at Cluny Farm.
Please try and not let your child be absent these next few weeks as we are practicing for the concert. Children who are absent miss out on the vital rehearsal time.
The tickets for the concert will be on sale in the office from the 26 September @ R50 per person. (Cash only please)
Please note - We cannot reserve tickets or seats without payment first. First preference for seating will be based on whoever books and pays. A map and directions will be sent out closer to the time.
Heritage Day - Dress up Day - Friday 23 September
We are embracing our wonderful heritage. We have such a diverse culture in our beautiful land so once again we would like our children to dress up in their traditional outfits to celebrate our Heritage on Friday 23 September. We also request that each child brings a small plate of traditional food along with them to share with their friends. This has always been such an enjoyable day in the past.
Now that summer is upon us it is compulsory for all the children to wear hats and to have sunscreen applied. Broad brimmed hats are preferred marked with their names. Not all the children like to wear hats but what we have found in the past is if the hat is specifically bought for them they take ownership of it and are most likely to enjoy wearing their own special hat. Please apply sunblock to your child before school and we will reapply sunblock just before they go outside to play.
If your child needs to take medication please bring it directly to the office as it is a Health Department regulation that no medication of any form is to be kept in the class rooms or the children’s school bags (for safety reasons). A medication book is kept in the office whereby the parents must complete and sign to give the school consent to administer medication even if it is just Panado or Calpol. Please also inform the class teacher as she administers the medication.
Thank you for the generous donations of clothing and items that are still coming in. We will be sending them off to “Touch of Hope” within the next couple of weeks.
Children leaving next year.
This is a very sad time of the year for me, as I don’t like my little people to leave.
However, if your child is not returning to Kyalami Ridge in 2017, a terms notice in writing is required. This is in accordance with the conditions of enrolment.
Our Sincere Condolences
Myself and staff at Kyalami Ridge would like to extend our love, prayers and thoughts to Little Yashoda, her dad Carel Van Tonder and the rest of their family on the untimely passing of Krishnaveni their mother and wife recently. Krishnaveni was a devoted mommy to her two girls. I will always remember her was a proactive parent at Kyalami Ridge, always offering sound advice and support. May God be with the family during this sad time.
THOUGH OF THE MONTH
