Please take your time to scroll through the photos, we made an effort to get a large variety throughout the day.

WELCOME TO SPRING

Welcome Back to school to those who had a long holiday.

The first theme this term is “SPRING”.  Lessons start at 8:30 promptly.    It would be greatly appreciated by the teachers if the children arrived on time.  Please try and not let your child be absent these next few weeks as we are practicing for the concert and children who are absent miss out on the vital rehearsal time.

School Annual Concert

Our annual school concert will be held on Saturday 14 October 9:00am - 11:00am at Cluny Farm.

The school concert is the highlight event of the year.  It’s a group effort and “all” the children in the school will be participating.   If for any reason you cannot attend the concert on the 14 October, please inform your child’s class teacher so that we can take into consideration when co-ordination roles, songs and the making of the costumes.

The tickets for the concert will be on sale in the office from Tuesday 26 September @ R50 per person. (Cash only please)

Please note - We cannot reserve tickets or seats without payment first.  First preference for seating will be based on whoever books and pays.   A map with directions will be sent out closer to the time.

Heritage Day - Dress up Day Friday 22 September

Please dress your child in a traditional outfit on Friday 22 September and also to bring a small plate of traditional food for all to share.   This event was such a success when the children dressed up last year.   I hope the enthusiasm and spirit of that day will continue.

Public Holidays

Please note the school is closed on Monday 25th September, for Heritage day that falls on a Sunday.

Sun Block/Hat

Now that spring/summer is upon us, it is compulsory for all the children to wear hats and to have sunscreen applied.  Broad brimmed hats are preferred.  Please label the hat with your child’s name on it and apply sunblock to your child before school. We will re-apply sunblock just before they go outside to play.

Children leaving at the end of the year.

It is very sad for me when a Kyalami Ridge child leaves the school for whatever reason.    However, if your child is not returning to Kyalami Ridge in 2018, a terms notice in writing is required. This is in accordance with the conditions of enrolment.

Books for children/Adults

September - Disney book month

I had a very interesting meeting with representatives from a company who promotes and sells a wide variety of books for children as well as adults.   I am planning to have a book display before the end of the year to allow parents to view and maybe purchase some books.

You may also go online and view the selection of books.  However, if you do decide to purchase books online please, bear in mind that if you use Kyalami Ridge as a collection point the school will receive a percentage of your purchase, which will go towards building up our school library.
